Johnson Controls donates $100,000 to help build memorial

Glendale-based Johnson Controls Inc. recently donated $100,000 to the Washington D.C. Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation Inc.

“On behalf of Johnson Controls’ 130,000 employees in 1,300 locations serving customers in more than 150 countries, we present this contribution with deep appreciation for Dr. King’s work to protect ideals of justice, democracy, love and hope for all Americans,” said Charles Harvey, vice president of diversity and public affairs at the company. “Participating in the building of this lasting memorial to Dr. King is one of the proudest moments in our 124 year history.”

The Foundation is raising money to construct Dr. King’s Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, DC.
