Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings and his wife, Nicole, will serve as honorary campaign co-chairs for the United Way of Greater Milwaukee in 2013.
“Education is one of United Way’s three critical issue areas – and locally we invest almost $8 million each year in programs that work to build successful futures for nearly 100,000 children,” said Mary Lou Young, president and CEO, United Way of Greater Milwaukee. “We are thrilled to have Greg and Nicole help us engage donors and volunteers to get involved, and ensure more youth enter school ready to succeed and graduate from high school on time.”
The Jennings are both active community leaders and will help support United Way of Greater Milwaukee and its education, income, and health strategies with a focus on education.
“During our time in Wisconsin and as a member of the Green Bay Packers, we have been given amazing support from around the state,” Greg said. “I want to set an example for my daughters and show them the importance of education and of giving back. Supporting the community through United Way is a great way to do that.”
Jennings is also part of United Way’s Team NFL, a core group of civic-minded, college-educated NFL players committed to helping United Way recruit one million volunteer readers, tutors and mentors over the next three years.
Greg Jennings has been with the Green Bay Packers since 2006 and is a Super Bowl champion and two-time Pro Bowl player. Nicole Jennings is a registered nurse. They have three daughters.
