Jeffrey Vercauteren

Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C., Milwaukee, is pleased to announce that Jeffrey L. Vercauteren was named to In Business magazine’s 2016 Class of 40 Under 40. The issue celebrates the success of 40 rising young business stars in the Greater Madison area, each a business or civic leader who has demonstrated moxie and a firm commitment to the region through board involvement, volunteerism, or other activities.

Vercauteren is an attorney in WHD’s Madison office, where he leads the Communications Law Team and is a member of the Commercial Real Estate, Energy & Mining, Real Estate & Eminent Domain Litigation, Sustainability & Renewable Energy, Technology Law, and Government Affairs teams.

Vercauteren represents clients in all aspects of project development and financing, from conception through construction, including contract drafting and negotiation, due diligence review, title and survey issues, permitting, land use approvals, and leasing. He is a leader on historic preservation issues, including issues related to landmarks, historic districts, municipal approvals, and historic preservation tax credits. Vercauteren also represents clients in land use and zoning disputes, eminent domain proceedings, appeals of municipal decisions, and advises clients on detailed and complex regulatory and government affairs issues.

Vercauteren received his B.A., with distinction, in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin, and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame Law School. Vercauteren is active in the community as President of Capitol Neighborhoods, Inc., as a board member of Downtown Madison, Inc., and as a member of the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce, Madison Magnet, OPEN Madison and Smart Growth Greater Madison.
