Jantzen leaving CG Schmidt to re-start his business

At the end of this week Lou Jantzen will leave his job as a project director for CG Schmidt to re-start a company that he started 17 years ago. The company, Delafield-based Jantzen Facilities Development S.C., manages major construction projects for building owners. Jantzen stopped operating the business for six years while working for CG Schmidt.

"I kind of kept (the company) in hibernation for these years expecting to go back into it," Jantzen said. "I see now, just as I saw back in the late 80s, a lot of imprudent decisions and money wasted by building owners with construction projects. I felt if someone with construction expertise can oversee the whole process those mistakes can be avoided. I was successful before and I intend to be successful again." Jantzen specializes in health care construction projects.
