Jagdfeld named Entrepreneur of the Year

London-based professional services firm Ernst & Young LLP has named Aaron Jagdfeld as winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2012 Award for the manufacturing category in the Upper Midwest.

Jagdfeld, CEO of generator manufacturer Generac Power Systems in Waukesha, was recognized for being an outstanding entrepreneur who demonstrates excellence and extraordinary success in innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to his business and community, according to Ernst & Young.
He was chosen by an independent panel of judges to receive the award at a gala on June 14 in Minneapolis.
“It’s an honor to have been selected for this award,” Jagdfeld said. “The manufacturing sector is experiencing a strong rebound in the United States. I’m proud to be a part of a company whose entrepreneurial spirit is helping lead growth in this important part of the economy.”
Jagdfeld joins other accomplished Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year winners like Jeff Bezos of Amazon.com, Michael Dell of Dell Inc., Herb Kelleher of Southwest Airlines, Fred Smith of FedEx and Larry Page and Sergey Brin of Google.
He will now be entered into consideration for the National Entrepreneur of the Year 2012 Award, which will be announced at a gala in Palm Springs, Calif. on November 17.
