Inland Companies joins Colliers International

Milwaukee-based Inland Companies announced last week that its commercial real estate brokerage and property management divisions have become an affiliate of global commercial real estate services firm Colliers International.

Those two Inland Companies divisions now operate under the Colliers’ name and brand. The Inland brokerage and property management divisions are now known as Colliers International|Wisconsin. For brokerage and property management services the Inland Companies name will no longer be used. But the Inland Construction and PROTECH (facility maintenance) divisions will continue operating under the Inland Companies umbrella

All brokers and staff will remain with the company. Scott Welsh will continue as the company’s president and chief executive officer. Mike Fardy will continue as the company’s chief operating officer and partner.

Previously, Colliers International was affiliated with the former James T. Barry Co., which last year switched its affiliation to Cassidy Turley.

The affiliation with Inland Companies brings Colliers back into the Wisconsin commercial real estate market.

“As we continue to expand our footprint in the Midwest, we see Inland Companies as the right partner to give us the edge and expertise in the Wisconsin market.” said Tom Murray, regional managing director of the U.S. central region for Colliers International. “With its impressive portfolio and a company culture that aligns itself nicely with our own, Inland was the only option for Colliers. With Inland, we look forward to future growth and expansion throughout Milwaukee, the state of Wisconsin and the entire region.”

Colliers International has 12,300 professionals operating out of more than 522 offices in 62 countries. Inland Companies has a staff of 50 commercial real estate brokerage experts and property management professionals.

“We are excited to blend our talented team at Inland with Colliers International, the leader in global real estate services,” said Welsh. “Our main focus was to maintain our culture and accelerate our success through their global reach.”

In 2011, Inland’s Milwaukee-area real estate brokers completed approximately 300 transactions totaling more than $160 million. Inland Companies’ property management division serves more than 2,700 tenants daily and oversees a portfolio of approximately 6 million square feet of office, retail, industrial, residential, mixed use, receiverships and special use facilities throughout Wisconsin.

“When we considered how to take Inland to the next level, Colliers was the perfect fit,” said Fardy. “From its culture to its strong property management and brokerage expertise, Colliers was the complete package.”
