Industrial Controls acquires Illinois company’s assets

Sussex-based The Industrial Controls Co. has acquired the assets of Downers Grove, Ill.-based Control Masters Inc.

The new division will operate as Industrial Controls of Illinois Inc., dba The Industrial Controls Company Inc.-Control Masters Division.

Industrial Controls will continue to operate the 20,000-square-foot facility in Downers Grove and retain its 10 employees, bringing total employment to 56. The Sussex facility is 20,000 square feet. Industrial Controls also has a 5,000-square-foot plant in Neenah.

The merger will integrate the manufacturing and systems design and integration knowledge of the companies, which both make industrial control panels. Original equipment manufacturers and end users will have access to the combined firm’s added capacity, collaborative design process, adherence to strict quality guidelines and continuous improvement efforts.

The companies will be able to bring products to market faster and more accurately document the processes through their combined efforts.

“This combination of two great companies presents numerous opportunities for manufacturers looking for a true partner to work with on their next control systems project,” said Don Lavrenz, managing partner of The Industrial Controls Co. Inc. “We believe in making the customer successful above all else.”

“The complementary nature of our businesses will combine two core competencies giving OEM’s and end users access to system integration and panel manufacturing from one source,” said Fred Horn, president of the new division. “Our deep experience in project management and focus on quality systems give customers complete reassurance.”
