Independent candidate vows legal fight over ballot name

An independent Assembly candidate who wants to put the phrase "NOT the whiteman’s bitch" next to her name on the fall ballot vows to take her fight all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Independent Ieshuh Griffin filed a motion seeking to remove Judge Rudolph Randa from her case and to have a three-judge panel consider her petition. Griffin is running for the 10th Assembly District seat vacated by the retirement of Democrat Annette “Polly” Williams.
However, Randa rejected the motion. He wrote in his ruling that Griffin wanted him removed because he ruled against her, and that was not justification for recusal. Randa also wrote that three-judge courts are convened only in limited circumstances, "none of which are applicable to Griffin’s claims."
