IBS moving to Brookfield

International Business Systems, which opened its third U.S. location in Pewaukee in February, has already outgrown the space.

The manufacturing software company’s branch will be moved to a suite at 3400 Intertech Drive in Brookfield in October, said CEO Doug Braun.

While the 3,270-square-foot Pewaukee office had room for 20 people, the new 3,995-square-foot space can hold 32 people, he said.

IBS, which offers consulting services, enterprise resource management software and business applications to help businesses move products more efficiently, has 18 employees in Milwaukee. Braun is in the process of hiring another 10.

Sweden-based IBS’ U.S. headquarters is in Folsom, Calif. It also has a U.S. office in Rochelle Park, N.J. The company has 600 employees globally.

“We act like a very regional company, but we have a very global pool of employees,” Braun said. “You want to have local presence whenever you can.”

Braun, who was raised in Wisconsin, chose to open a Milwaukee-area office because he feels the market has opportunity and the area has a good talent pool.

“First and foremost, the mid-tier market is not well served. We think IBS has the products to serve that market,” Braun said.
He plans to continue hiring and growing quickly if the business supports it.
