Raymond Weissert, general manager of Bistro and Bar 333 at the Hyatt Regency hotel in downtown Milwaukee announced that he will open the former Polaris restaurant for those interested in watching Fourth of July fireworks from a unique viewpoint.
Polaris was the revolving restaurant on the 20th floor of the Hyatt Regency hotel. It will reopen on Sunday July 4 from 7 p.m. to midnight to showcase multiple views of the city’s fireworks displays.
“I realized that I can offer a view of the city’s fireworks that nobody else can offer,” Weissert said. “From Polaris you can see the fireworks displays from throughout the whole city.”
Weissert opened Polaris last year during the Big Bang fireworks display, but found that the buildings to the east of the Hyatt blocked a large portion of the view towards Summerfest Grounds.
“It was still a nice view last year (for the Big Bang),” he said. “But this year, the view of the entire city and the fireworks displays will be unlike anything you’ve ever seen.”
Attendees will not be required to pay a cover for the event, but reservations are required so personalized tables can be set up.
Guests can dine on $5 dessert plates and $8 cheese and sausage plates and choose from a selection of specialty cocktails, wines and beer.
According to Weissert, he can take up to 150 people on the outside windows and then an additional 15 tables near the middle of the space.
“It’s a wonderful space and going forward we are going to look at doing more events like this in the space,” Weissert said. Reservations can be made through Bistro 333 by calling (414) 270-6129.
