- Milwaukee Harley-Davidson will hold its 10th annual charity chili cook-off on Saturday to benefit Our Space Inc., Milwaukee’s only drop-in center for those suffering from mental illness.
The cook-off, which will also feature live music, children’s activities and cocktail samplings, takes place from noon to 5 p.m. at the Milwaukee Harley-Davidson dealership, 11310 W. Silver Spring Road.

- The fourth annual “Get Your Rear in Gear” 5K run and walk is scheduled for Saturday, October 11 at Hart Park in Wauwatosa. The event supports the Medical College of Wisconsin’s programs for colon cancer research, education, prevention and screening, as well as the Colon Cancer Coalition, a national organization.
The event begins at 8:10 a.m. with a kids’ fun run, followed by a timed, 5K run at 8:30 a.m. and a 5K walk immediately after. In addition to the race, the gastrointestinal team from Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin will provide information about colonoscopies, and there will be an opportunity to arrange screening appointments.
