Hartung to lead workshop

National innovation speaker Adam Hartung will host an innovation workshop for manufacturing executives on Wednesday, June 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Country Springs Hotel, 2810 Golf Road in Pewaukee.

Hartung is a managing partner at strategy and transformation consultant firm Spark Partners in Chicago. He has experience as a strategist at The Boston Consulting Group, and a strategic planning and business development executive with PepsiCo and DuPont.

He holds an MBA from Harvard and led the Pizza Hut Home Delivery project at PepsiCo, opening more than 200 stores in less than two years.

Hartung will discuss strategies for small and medium businesses to identify major trends and plan accordingly.

Globalization, demographic changes and technology like social media, mobile and biotech will have an impact that businesses should incorporate in their strategic long-term planning, he said.

“The way you’re going to become more competitive is by understanding the trends and providing solutions that utilize the trends,” Hartung said.

Those businesses that apply the trends to improve the customer experience will have an advantage over competitors, he said.

“I tell people to understand trends, build scenarios—that’s the first part of being able to position yourself to have more revenues and greater profits in future years,” Hartung said.

Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership is hosting the workshop. Cost is $1,000 for the first registrant and $250 for each additional attendee from the same company.
