What has fueled your company’s growth? “We’re a relatively small group, but we’ve got decades of industrial engineering experience. So at a time when many of our customers are struggling to do more with less, we’ve got the ability to help them create efficiencies by identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.”

What is the biggest obstacle to your company’s growth? “Our biggest challenge is creating awareness and getting mindshare. Company leadership is so focused these days on getting the job done – and understandably so. It’s sometimes difficult to ask them to think about continuous improvement initiatives that can help them meet long-term profitability and productivity goals.”

Do you plan any changes in your company in the upcoming months? “We’re working on ways to create awareness and better communicate our value proposition. Our newly launched website is helping to tell that story.”

Who are the business people, locally or nationally, whom you admire? And what traits do those people exhibit that make you admire them? “I admire leaders who create a culture that inspires people to live out of purpose.”

What is the outlook for the business conditions of your industry over the next several months? “The outlook for our industry looks good. We’re optimistic for the future.”

What is your company’s key strategy for rising out of the recession? “We’ll be successful as long as we’re helping our customers succeed and, for us, the timing couldn’t be better. As industries begin to emerge from the recession, they’re leaner than ever. There’s a lot of talk about the continuous-improvement concepts of world class manufacturing. Plants are being reorganized. Processes are being redefined. And it’s all with an eye toward maximizing productivity and minimizing waste. We’ve been helping customers achieve those goals for decades, so we think we’re well positioned for growth.”
