Harleys store will move from Shorewood to Third Ward

New location will open in late summer or early fall

Men’s clothing retailer Harleys plans to move its Shorewood store to Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward this fall.

It will occupy a 3,200-square-foot space on the first floor of the Marshall Building at 207 E. Buffalo St.

Harleys’ relocation comes after 70 years of business in Shorewood– the past 10 years at its current 5,400-square-foot space at 3565 N. Oakland Ave. The store sells custom-made tailored suits and other men’s apparel and accessories.

Harleys was purchased in 2017 by Daniel Wickman, who also owns The Haberdasher Limited in Green Bay. Since the change in ownership, some of the space inside the store is no longer utilized, said Jeff Brand, store manager’s and buyer.

Brand said the move will downsize the store’s footprint, but it will allow for more efficiency and eliminate that wasted space,

“There was change of ownership a couple years ago and we felt a responsibility to our clients to keep evolving,” he said.

When the Harleys’ new location opens in late summer or early fall, it will extend its hours of operation to Sunday for the first time. The store also plans to bolster its line of sportswear to accommodate market preferences.
