Harley’s LiveWire issue limited to one motorcycle, production restarted

Harley LiveWire

Milwaukee-based Harley-Davidson Inc. has restarted production and delivery of LiveWire, the company’s first electric motorcycle.

LiveWire is the result of nearly a decade of product development and Harley just began shipping models to dealers and customers this fall. The company opted to pause production and delivery this week after discovering an issue with the vehicles’ charging equipment.

In a statement Friday, Harley-Davidson Motor Co. said it has resumed production of LiveWire after “rigorous analysis” this week.

“Temporarily stopping LiveWire production allowed us to confirm that the non-standard condition identified on one motorcycle was a singular occurrence,” the statement said. “We take pride in our rigorous quality assurance measures and our drive to deliver the world’s best motorcycles.”

The company said customers could continue riding their LiveWires and using any charging method.
