Harley introduces new bikes

Milwaukee-based Harley-Davidson Motor Co. has added two new motorcycles in its 2014 lineup.

The Low Rider and the SuperLow 1200T round out the company’s largest new model launch ever. It also recently released the Harley-Davidson Street 750 and Project RUSHMORE, which included eight new models.

The Low Rider is a throwback model, modeled after the original 1977 Low Rider but updated with modern performance. The SuperLow 1200T is a touring motorcycle with several customizable travel features.

“It’s been a fantastic six months for us,” said Matt Levatich, president and chief operating officer of Harley-Davidson Motor Co. “First Project RUSHMORE, then Harley-Davidson Street, now the new SuperLow 1200T and Low Rider models—all are the result of being customer led and delivering riders the technical prowess and rebellious spirit that they want infused in each and every new Harley.”

Keith Wandell, Harley-Davidson Inc.’s chairman, president and chief executive officer, has been driving faster and more efficient new product development since he joined the company in 2009. He told the Greater Milwaukee Committee in September that the company has cut development time in half.
