Milwaukee-based Hal Leonard Corp. recently entered into an exclusive distribution deal for St. Hyacinthe, Quebec-based Castiv Media Inc.’s Guitar Sidekick product.
Castiv Media is a design company specializing in Smartphone accessories for musicians. Hal Leonard is the world’s largest music print publisher.
The Guitar Sidekick is a clamp system that secures mobile devices to the necks of guitars. It assists musicians who want to use Smartphone applications for tuning, recording, viewing music lessons or other guitar-related apps.
“We are ecstatic to be a part of Hal Leonard’s unparalleled distribution network, which will no doubt enable us to reach more musicians worldwide than ever before,” said David Garon, vice president of Groupe Castiv Media.
The Guitar Sidekick is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, Android, BlackBerry, Zune, PSP and other mobile devices.
“The market for music apps is simply exploding, and the Guitar Sidekick is in a perfect position – marketwise, and literally, on the guitar neck – to help musicians make the most of these exciting new developments,” said Brad Smith, Hal Leonard senior sales and marketing manager. “The Sidekick is practical, easy-to-use and a great deal. We know our retailers will embrace this product, especially heading into the holiday season.”
The Guitar Sidekick is available for $29.99. It is the first product released to the market for Castiv Media, which was formed last year. The founders of the company , Mark and David Garon, say they plan to extend the Sidekick line with several other products.
