Habitat for Humanity warns of scam

Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity has issued an advisory to the Milwaukee community about a recent fundraising scam.

 

The organization reported that individuals who identify themselves as representatives from “Dreamers of America” have been going door-to-door, claiming to be raising money for Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity. Specifically, they have been reported in Pewaukee, Wauwatosa and Fox Point.

The individuals and “Dreamers of America” are not affiliated with Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity in any way, and they are not raising money on the organization’s behalf.

Habitat for Humanity is urging the public to call police when targeted by the scam.
