Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity will honor Milwaukee-based Quarles & Brady LLP with a Philanthropist of the Year award during its 18th annual “Foundations for Change” Dinner and Auction on Saturday, Oct. 26.
The award recognizes companies and organizations for their involvement with Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity’s mission to create quality affordable housing for area residents in need and strengthen area neighborhoods.
Quarles and Brady’s Milwaukee office has provided legal services to Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity since 1994, assisting the organization with real estate and loan closings, resolution of labor and employment issues, and bankruptcy procedures. The firm’s hands-on support is part of its “Quarles Cares” philanthropic initiative, which encourages attorneys and staff members to be engaged in their communities.
“We are honored to receive such an award from Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity,” said Quarles & Brady attorney Patrick Schoen, who has been part of the firm’s pro bono legal representation of the nonprofit. “We have thoroughly enjoyed our near 20-year partnership with this remarkable organization, and we look forward to assisting in its mission to build homes and strong families in the Milwaukee area.”
Partner Michael Ostermeyer will accept the Philanthropist of the Year award on behalf of the firm at the “Foundations for Change” Dinner and Auction, which will celebrate the community development progress Habitat for Humanity has made in Washington Park this past year and benefit its mission of providing quality, affordable housing for residents and families in need.
The benefit will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Discovery World, located at 500 N. Harbor Dr. in Milwaukee. Tickets cost $100. To purchase a ticket, contact Megan Kutchenriter, development associate at Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity, at mkutchenriter@milwaukeehabitat.org or at 414-562-6100 ext. 11.
