Growing Racine manufacturer relocating to Mount Pleasant

Premier Products of Racine relocating to 208,000-square-foot industrial building

Organizations:

A Racine manufacturer purchased a 208,800-square-foot industrial building in Mount Pleasant that will allow for continued expansion of its workforce and business.

Premier Products of Racine, which designs and manufactures foam rollers, is moving from leased space at 1220 Mound Avenue to 2745 Chicory Road.

The company will occupy 85,000 square feet of the building – about 10,000 square feet more than what they are currently leasing, said John Poulsen, president of Premier.

Premier Products purchased the building from the owner of Treasures Media Inc., which will remain a tenant in the building, along with the other tenants, said Adam Matson, a broker with NAI MLG Commercial, who represented the seller along with Brett Garceau.

“We have a growth plan with the former owner that Premier can grow into his space,” Matson said. “His business is expanding as well and he is looking for flexibility to eventually move, so this makes a lot of sense for him.”

Poulsen started Premier Products 18 years ago with a business partner and eventually bought him out. Today, it is a family-run business.

Over the years, the company has steadily grown. Last year, Poulsen hired six people. Today, there are 25 people who work in manufacturing and four in the office.

The new building will allow Premier to add a new production line and eventually hire more people, Poulsen said.

“We’ve been able to add new customers and our current customers have expanded their work,” Poulsen said. “Hopefully we can continue in the direction we’ve been going.”
