Grounds Maintenance Services / ActionCOACH of Elm Grove

The 12th annual GMAC Golf Outing, co-hosted by Grounds Maintenance Services and ActionCOACH of Elm Grove, raised more than $16,000 for two great causes, reflecting yet another big day of long drives, winning putts and plenty of fun for all involved.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin will each receive $8,000 from the Aug. 18 outing, a generous statement of support from more than 170 people who golfed, socialized and volunteered at Ironwood Golf Course.

Money was raised from sponsorships, entry fees, silent auction items, and varied contests and games. The event has raised more than $130,000 for charity since 2006.

“We are, yet again, appreciative of and humbled by the tremendous generosity and support for this annual outing,” said Todd Ruedt, owner of Grounds Maintenance Services. “Our golf foursomes were completely sold out, and we had a tremendous number of volunteers and dinner attendees. We cannot thank enough all who participate, volunteer, or provide sponsorships and donations to keep growing the event’s success.”

“More people than ever are being diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, according to the CDC, so the need for local programs and services continues to grow,” said Emily Levine, Executive Director of the Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin. “The GMAC Golf Outing is an amazing event that helps support our mission to improve the lives of all affected by autism. Funds raised at this event on behalf of Grounds Maintenance Services and ActionCOACH help us deliver these much-needed programs and support services to families who need them. We are thankful for such great support!”

“The GMAC Golf Outing is an important fund-raising event that gives the community an opportunity to do something enjoyable and make a critical difference in the lives of blood cancer patients and their families, and those impacted by autism, said Karen Ropel, Development Director of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. “We are lucky to partner with ActionCOACH, Grounds Maintenance Services and the Autism Society for such a great day!”
