When JanSport’s headquarters moved from Wisconsin to California in 2005, it cut 55 jobs here and reduced its staff to about 350 employees.
At the time, Greenville’s town administrator didn’t welcome the news. “Obviously, it’s disheartening,” said administrator Dave Tebo. “JanSport is a large business in our community, and any disinvestments are going to influence our community.”
