Green Building in Walker’s Point

A groundbreaking ceremony was held recently to celebrate the start of construction of a 4-story, 30,000-square-foot “green” commercial building on a vacant lot at 538 S. 2nd St., northeast of 2nd Street and Bruce Street, in the city of Milwaukee’s Walker’s Point neighborhood.

The estimated cost of the project, called Milwaukee Fix, is $7.2 million. The developer for the project is Milwaukee Fix LLC, led by Juli Kaufmann. The building will be the new home of the Healing Collective health center. In addition, Clock Shadow Creamery, a cheese production facility and retail shop will occupy space on the first floor of the building.
