Goris to leave Cornerstone Financial Group

Organizations:

Tom Goris Jr., managing partner of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance subsidiary Cornerstone Financial Group, will leave the Milwaukee office on June 1 and will accept a similar position in the Chicago market.

“Tom Goris will succeed the retiring managing partner in Northwestern Mutual’s network office in Skokie, Ill.,” said Betsy Hoylman, director of media relations for Northwestern Mutual. “It’s one of the company’s largest and most successful offices in the country.”

The transition is part of a reorganization process for the Milwaukee office. The search has begun for a new Milwaukee managing partner, who also will start on June 1, making for a seamless transition, Hoylman said.
The management change should not affect clients of either location, she said.
Goris has been with Northwestern Mutual since 1988. He became managing partner of Cornerstone in 1999. The Milwaukee office is located at 731 N. Jackson St.

Cornerstone also operates district network offices in Brookfield, Mequon and Oak Creek. Cornerstone reported total insurance in force of $14.8 billion in 2010.
Harry Hoopis, the retiring managing partner of the Skokie Northwestern Mutual subsidiary Hoopis Financial Group, worked as superintendent of Manpower development in the Milwaukee office from 1974 to 1977 before being appointed managing partner in Skokie.
