GOP endorses candidate to take on Moore for Milwaukee congressional seat

The Republican Party of Wisconsin this week announced its endorsement of Republican candidate Dan Sebring for the seat in the U.S. House of Representatives currently held by Rep. Gwen Moore, D-Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee congressional seat is traditionally held by a Democrat, so Sebring faces an uphill battle.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Sebring served on the Chief of Naval Operations Intelligence staff at the Pentagon, as well as serving at the U.S. Naval Base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. A 1975 graduate of New Berlin West High School and former volunteer firefighter, Sebring is the owner of Sebring Garage, an auto repair business located at 60th and Howard in Milwaukee.

Also this week, Sebring announced his support for a proposal to exempt injured veterans and their health insurance plans from a medical device tax that is part of the federal health care reform law.
