Planet Fitness recently leased 21,802 square feet of space in Southgate Mall at 3473 S. 27th St. in Milwaukee from Southgate Marketplace LLC, which was represented by Peter Glaser and Ben Weiland of CB Richard Ellis.
Health club chains Planet Fitness and Gold’s Gym are active in the metro Milwaukee real estate market seeking additional sites to open more health clubs in the area, said Cory Sovine, vice president of Siegel-Gallagher‘s retail group.
Earlier this year Gold’s Gym added a location in downtown Milwaukee. A Gold’s Gym is under construction in Hales Corners and another is planned in Racine. The only other Gold’s location is in Waukesha.
The Southgate location will be the first in the Milwaukee area for Planet Fitness.
“Expect to see a few more of them pop up in the next couple of years,” Sovine said. “Milwaukee is fairly under gym-ed from a national perspective.
