GE Healthcare, Make-A-Wish Wisconsin team up for send-off

GE Healthcare, which has its U.S. headquarters in Wauwatosa, will be helping 3-year-old Dominic Wagnitz of Hartland celebrate his wish to go to the Walt Disney World Resort with a special send-off on Friday. Dominic was granted a wish from Make-A-Wish Wisconsin after being diagnosed with hypo plastic left heart syndrome.

GE Healthcare will also be presenting a check for $30,000 to Make-A-Wish Wisconsin as a result of awards given to Steven Gray, president and chief executive officer of detection and guidance solutions, and engineering team leader Gustavo Perez-Fernandez for developing the Revolution CT, which can image the heart in just one heartbeat.

Designed and manufactured in Wisconsin, the Revolution CT gives physicians a look inside the body at organs such as the heart, soft tissues, vascular structures and bones using X-rays to generate very high-resolution images.

Gray has also served as a member of the Make-A-Wish Wisconsin’s board of directors since 2013.

“We are so grateful for the dedication and support of Steven Gray and GE Healthcare towards making wishes comes true for children with life-threatening medical conditions,” said Patti Gorsky, Make-A-Wish Wisconsin president and chief executive officer.

Since the Wisconsin chapter of Make-A-Wish was founded in 1984, it has impacted more than 5,000 families statewide. Last year, the chapter granted a record-breaking 356 wishes, and currently more than 300 Wisconsin children are in the process of having their special wishes granted.
