Juneau, Wis.-based Gardner Pet Group Inc. plans to open a plant in West Bend, where it will create 50 to 60 jobs.
The company has signed a long term lease for a 160,000-square-foot industrial building at 2845 Wingate St. in West Bend from Milwaukee-based Phoenix Investors LLC. The plant is expected to open “within the next few months,” according to Phoenix Investors.
The lease was brokered by Nick Keys, Sam Dickman Jr. and Sam Dickman Sr. of Milwaukee-based The Dickman Company.
The West Bend building was originally built for and occupied by Focus Products Group. GPG conducted a search across the Midwest to find a location for the facility. The West Bend facility will be used to manufacture and distribute Gardner Pet Group products.
Gardner Pet Group, which makes a variety of pet products, also has a manufacturing operation in Shanghai, China.
