Froedtert Community Physicians names leaders

    Dr. John Butler has been named chief medical officer and Kathy Bagemihl has been named chief operating officer at Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Community Physicians.

     
    The clinical practice group comprises more than 250 physicians practicing at more than 30 Froedtert & the Medical College clinics throughout southeastern Wisconsin.

    Dr. Butler will be in charge of clinical operations, as well as clinical and service quality, patient outcomes, provider performance and access to care. He will be responsible for improving on the consistency and effectiveness of transitions between care environments at Froedtert and its partners.

    Butler is a board certified internist with a University of Wisconsin-Madison medical degree. He completed an internal medicine internship at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s in Denver, Colo. and a residency at the University of Cincinnati.  He holds a master’s in medical management from Carnegie Mellon University and most recently served as vice president of medical affairs at Dean Health System’s Dean Clinic. He also previously worked as vice president of medical affairs at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.

    Bagemihl will be responsible for strategic planning and operational oversight. She will establish best practices, operational standardization and system integration for all of the Froedtert & the Medical College physician practices.

    She holds a master’s in health care administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a bachelor’s in occupational therapy from Mount Mary College. Bagemihl has been interim chief operating officer for the practice group since November.
