French bistro celebrates the arrival of a traditional French wine

Chez Jacques French bistro, 1022 S. 1st. St., will host a ‘European-style” party on Thursday, Nov. 19 beginning at 5 p.m. to celebrate the arrival and the drinkability of the 2009 Beaujolais Nouveau wine.

For decades the French have celebrated the arrival of the wine on the third Thursday of November to celebrate the arrival of the wine.

The wine is a purple-pink in color and comes from the Gamay grape, it is intended to be drunk early and is extremely light and dominated by fruity flavors.

The party will feature the uncorking of untold numbers of the wine, European music by Le Trio du Monde, with Tom Schwark, a special toast to the wine and a three-course dinner with entrée options is also being offered with reservations. Cost to attend with dinner is $50 per person and includes dinner, wine, entertainment and valet parking. To RSVP call 414.672.1040.
