An affiliate of a Milwaukee property management firm is planning to convert a former extended stay hotel in Glendale into market rate apartments.

Scott Lurie, owner of Jomela Boulder LLC, an affiliate of Milwaukee-based Jomela Properties, said the former Suites at Northshore Hotel, 7275 N. Port Washington Road, will be converted into 12, eight-unit multi-family buildings.

The city of Glendale will hold a public hearing Feb. 2 to consider the company’s proposal.

The former hotel was built in 1988. It was sold in an online auction to Boca Raton, Fla.-based BRE Imagination Hotel Owner LLC in July 2015 for $2.6 million.

The 96-suite hotel was formerly operated under the Residence Inn by Marriott flag.

In September, the hotel was put up for sale again and later sold to Jomela Boulder for $3 million, according to state real estate records.
