Bob Glowacki, former chief executive officer of Easterseals Southeast Wisconsin, has been named executive director of Milwaukee-based nonprofit EconomicsWisconsin.

EconomicsWisconsin, the brand name for the Wisconsin Council on Economic Education, Inc., promotes economics education and financial literacy in elementary and secondary schools.

Glowacki succeeds Frank Habib, who served as interim executive director.

“EcononmicsWisconsin has a deep commitment to support the principles of the free market system,” Glowacki said. “Never has the most successful country in the history of the world been more at risk for losing the very foundation that made it successful than now. And, EconomicsWisconsin believes the best way to combat this trend is to reach out to the K-12 population with the facts and benefits of our economic system so they can make informed life choices.”

Glowacki was CEO of Easterseals for 15 years, during which he led the organization through the completion of three mergers. He stepped down from the organization in March 2018.

He was recognized as the BizTimes Media Nonprofit Executive of the Year in 2015.

“In our search process Bob demonstrated his passion for taking on this task,” said Greg Grambow, chairman of the EconomicsWisconsin board. “Bob’s track record is exceptional. We are confident Bob will continue to both lead and expand sending our message to the 800,000 plus students in Wisconsin.”

EconomicsWisconsin provides curricular resources, teacher training and classroom materials related to the free market and free enterprise system. Nearly 5,000 students have participated in the organization’s competitions, the Stock Market Game and EconChallenge, this year.
