First Citizens Bank plans to open a new Milwaukee branch at 5610 W. Capitol Drive, according to documents filed with the city of Milwaukee. Plans to renovate the building call for a new 70-square-foot security vestibule to the front entrance of the building, removal of a building entrance on the western elevation, the conversion of the drive-through window to a secure deal drawer, and minor façade renovations made necessary by the building additions. The 1,500 square-foot building was formerly occupied by Starbucks from 2003 to 2019. However, the coffee shop closed its doors permanently following a series of robberies. Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, First Citizens Bank has 536 branches across 19 states. First Citizens Bank has 14 branches in Wisconsin. First Citizens Bank has $47.8 billion in assets and $41.7 billion in total deposits, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
