Fire damages SPX

The damage is still being assessed at SPX Transformer Solutions Inc. in Waukesha after a fire damaged one of the test bay areas at 8:50 p.m. on April 29.

“The sprinkler system was activated and contained the fire. The fire department was called and arrived on the scene. One minor firefighter injury has been reported, but no civilian injuries. At this time we are working with the City of Waukesha fire department to determine the exact cause of the fire,” the company said in a statement.
SPX unveiled a new $70 million addition to its Transformer Solutions facility, 400 S. Prairie Ave., on April 12.
