Bryan Laabs, a senior manager with Wauwatosa-based Clifton Gunderson, has earned his certified construction industry financial professional (CCIFP) designation from the Institute Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals, Inc. (ICCIFP).
"Bryan is now one of 18 construction financial professionals in Wisconsin with this specialized designation,” said Scott Tracy, partner and Clifton Gunderson’s construction and real estate practice leader. “Bryan’s diligence, expertise, and commitment to the construction industry provides great value to our construction clients. His new accreditation will allow him to build on the great client service he provides today."
Laabs has more than 10 years of public accounting experience and specializes in providing audit, accounting and consulting services to clients in the construction, real estate, manufacturing, and wholesale distribution industries.
William Schenkelberg has been hired as national state and local tax (SALT) director with Wauwatosa-based Clifton Gunderson.
Schenkelberg has more than 15 years of SALT experience, working in all areas of state and local tax but primarily focused on income and franchise tax and sales and use tax issues. He specializes in assisting clients with managing and minimizing their multi-state tax burden. Schenkelberg will be responsible for continuing the development of the firm’s overall SALT niche specialization and will leverage his expertise across the firm to assist clients with their SALT needs. Prior to joining Clifton Gunderson, Schenkelberg worked as SALT practice leader for Grant Thornton’s Wisconsin practice.

Shannon Smith has been hired as a senior registered account administrator at Brookfield-based Rozman Wealth Management. She worked previously at Morgan Stanley in Milwaukee, where she specialized in retirement planning for affluent families and small businesses.
