After consolidating operations into the Cathedral Place building in downtown Milwaukee, Racine-based Johnson Financial Group recently sold its former downtown Milwaukee building at the southeast corner of East Wisconsin Avenue and North Milwaukee Street.

The buyer was an investors group led by local attorney Michael Levine. Milwaukee-based Kriete Group will be taking over the building, according to city permit application records. 

The building dates back to 1870. It totals 17,000 square feet and has an assessed value of $1.51 million, city records show.
