Eugene Robinson, a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and nationally known columnist for The Washington Post, will present the keynote address at “An Evening to Promote Racial Justice.”
The annual event, hosted by the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) Southeast Wisconsin, will be held Dec. 5 at the Marcus Center for Performing Arts, 929 N. Water St. in Milwaukee.
The evening focuses on the significance of race in professional and personal circles and honors two activists devoted to social justice efforts with the Eliminating Racism and Empowering Women awards.
Potawatomi Bingo Casino will serve as the event’s presenting sponsor.
Cost to attend is $50 for individuals, $20 for students and $15 for student groups of at least 10.

The YWCA Southeast Wisconsin recently formed with the fusion of the YWCA Greater Milwaukee and the YWCA of Racine. The organization provides low-income women and their families services and programming related to housing, education, job skills training and racial justice initiatives.
