The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency awarded three $200,000 clean up grants, for a total of $600,000, to the city of Milwaukee to remove contamination from three sites that are owned by the city’s Redevelopment Authority.
The sites are located at:
– North Edison Street and Highland Avenue in downtown Milwaukee. Russ Davis plans to build an 8-story, mixed-use building on the vacant lot, which is located along the Milwaukee River.
– North 21st Street and West Garfield Avenue. The property will be part of The Legacy development, a 51-home development in the central city by Legacy Midwest Renewal Corp., Irgens Development Partners LLC and Williams Development Corp. – North 30th Street and West North Avenue. Possible future uses for the site could include light industrial and retail.
