Electronic recycling company plans move to Whitewater

DP Electronic Recycling plans to move from Elkhorn to a 125,000-square-foot facility that it plans to build in the Whitewater Technology Park.

The company is currently located in 40,000 square feet of space that it leases at 540 E. Centralia St. in Elkhorn.

The company needs additional space and wanted to own its facility, said president Dale Helgeson.

“We will have a fully automated recycling process (in Whitewater),” he said. “Right now we’re doing everything manually.”

The company currently has 27 employees and plans to add another 60 employees in Whitewater, Helgeson said.

Construction is expected to begin by the end of the year and will take about six months.

Elkhorn-based Magill Construction is the general contractor for the project.

DP plans to build six other electronic recycling facilities across the country.
