Spring City Electric, a division of Pieper Electric Company, recently installed an electric vehicle charging station at its headquarters in Waukesha.
“Pieper Electric and Spring City Electric are very progressive companies,” said Mike Kelliher, branch manager of Spring City Electric. “Early on we saw an opportunity in the electric industry for us to provide installations in the market place.”
According to Kelliher the Chevrolet Vault is currently in 14 states and will be in all 50 states before the end of the year. Ford and Nissan also have electric car models coming to market. Spring City Electric works primarily with small commercial and commercial properties and can install the charging station on any property, including residential properties, Kelliher said.

Kelliher, who drives a hybrid vehicle now, also wants to do his part to reduce the country’s dependence on foreign oil while also being environmentally green, he said.
“The electric car is coming,” Kelliher said. “As a company we want to stay ahead of all this stuff and get the right equipment in to the market place so consumers aren’t so fearful. We want people to feel comfortable enough to purchase these vehicles and take comfort in the fact that there will be a place to charge it when they need to.”
Spring City Electric’s charging station is currently available to patrons free of charge, Kelliher said.
