Outdoor clothing retailer Eddie Bauer at Southridge Mall in Greendale is closing, mall owner Simon Property Group L.P. confirmed today.

The Bellevue, Wash.-based company plans to soon close the store, which is located on the upper level of the shopping center, leaving a full-priced store at Mayfair and outlet stores in Pleasant Prairie and Johnson Creek as its remaining Milwaukee-area locations.

“The retail landscape is always evolving, and the closing and opening of stores is part of that evolution,” said Mary Mokwa, general manager at Southridge. “Any change in the marketplace allows Southridge Mall the opportunity to add fresh and relevant new retail, dining and entertainment options that will better serve the Milwaukee community.

The shopping center lost anchor tenants Sears and Kohl’s in 2017, but has since added Dick’s Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy to its roster. Round 1 Bowling and Amusement Complex and TJ Maxx are also slated to open later this year.

Maredithe has covered retail, restaurants, entertainment and tourism since 2018. Her duties as associate editor include copy editing, page proofing and managing work flow. Meyer earned a degree in journalism from Marquette University and still enjoys attending men’s basketball games to cheer on the Golden Eagles.
