Ducati dealership plans move to former Wayside Furniture building

The Ducati Milwaukee motorcycle dealership plans to move from its current location in Pewaukee to the former Wayside Furniture building at 11422 W. Greenfield Ave. in West Allis.

The plans will be reviewed tonight by the West Allis Plan Commission.

BizTimes Milwaukee first reported in October that Joe Meinerz, the owner of the Ducati Milwaukee dealership, planned to move his business from its current location at 2204 Silvernail Road to West Allis. However, at the time he would not disclose the exact location he was considering in West Allis.

The dealership, which opened in 2010 is located in a 9,600-square-foot leases space and needs a larger location, Meinerz said.

The former Wayside Furniture building has 14,900 square feet of space, according to plans for the motorcycle dealership submitted to the city.

The dealership, which is the only dealership in the state for Duacti and MV Agusta (both high-end Italian motorcycle brands), has 7 full-time employees and plans to add one or two in the spring of 2014.
