The Salvation Army of Greater Milwaukee has announced that an anonymous donor will match dollar for dollar every donation made in Salvation Army Red Kettles on Saturday, Dec. 18 up to $25,000. Collectively, Red Kettles typically average $14,000 a day.
“We are grateful for this generous donation and really need the continued support of people in Milwaukee,” said Major Robert Thomson, Salvation Army Divisional Commander for Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. “Donations are down however, and every donation made to any Red Kettle on Saturday will help us meet our match day challenge and bring us closer to reaching our Christmas Campaign goal of $2.75M.”
Money raised during the annual Christmas Campaign will sustain Toy Shop, Christmas Family Feast, emergency shelter, medical, food pantries, and meals to the homeless and care to our military veterans.
