DeLind is closing art gallery

William DeLind announced he is closing the DeLind Gallery of Fine Art in downtown Milwaukee.

DeLind has operated the gallery at 450 E. Mason St. since 1969.

He is conducting a going-out-of-business sale.

“Meanwhile, although we are officially closed, there is still ‘clean up and clear out.’ Desks, tables, displays and as of this writing, about 150 artworks remain, looking for a good home, not just going into storage,” DeLind said in an e-mail to customers. “I’m looking for reasonable offers. It’s a great time to add outstanding artworks to your collection…The door will be open while we clean out, pack up, put away and close the door for the last time.”

The works of the Wisconsin artists available for purchase in the collection include Arnold Alaniz, Althea Jones, Roland Poska, Spicuzza,Terry Doughty, Aaron Bohrod and several original drawings by Carl Von Marr. International artists include Chahine, Helleu, Lobel Riche, original drawings by Jules Cheret, Louis Fortuney, Misti and more.

DeLind plans to open a new business, DeLind Fine Art Appraisals, by August on the second floor of the George Watts Building next to the Watts Tea Shop at 761 N. Jefferson St.
