Deal of the week: Pleasant Prairie building sold for $1.3 million

Kirsan Engineering Inc. will move its operations from Kenosha to Pleasant Prairie. The company, a contract manufacturer, recently purchased a 32,680-square-foot building at 8201 100th St., Pleasant Prairie, for $1.3 million, or about $39.78 per square foot. Kirsan will move to the building in August from its current location in a 24,750-square-foot space that it leases at 3120 64th St., Kenosha.

About 8,000 square feet of the building will be used for office space and the rest will be used for manufacturing space.

The new location will provide additional space that the company needs, said general manager Jerry Ring. The company has 61 employees and has grown by an average of 30 percent a year for the last 9 years, he said.

The new location, in the LakeView Corporate Park, will also place Kirsan Engineering close to its parent company, Ocenco Inc., located at 10225 82nd St., Pleasant Prairie.

Kirsan was able to take advantage of the slumping commercial real estate market to purchase the building at a good price, Ring said.

The building that the company purchased was previously occupied by Matthews Paint, which vacated it more than a year ago, Pleasant Prairie officials said.
