Milwaukee County Supervisor Toni Clark is expected to plead guilty to a felony charge of filing false campaign documents Friday.
If she is sentenced Friday, Clark will immediately be stripped of her public office. She could also face one and one-half years of prison or jail time, two years of extended supervision and up to $10,000 in fines.
Clark, 41, was elected to the Milwaukee County Board in a special election in 2003. She was re-elected in 2004 and again in 2008.
Clark is accused of making misrepresentations on campaign contribution filings, as well as withdrawing campaign funds for personal use, according to court documents.
She is believed to have used more than $6,500 in campaign money for personal purposes, the filings state. She is believed to have “unaddressed gambling and financial management problems,” the filings stated.
