Bukacek Construction, Racine, announced it has been selected as general contractor for a 25,000-square-foot addition for Limtech, located in Racine’s Renaissance Park. Key components of the Limtech addition include an expansion of existing space for molding equipment, a new "clean room" environment and an expanded extrusion line.
Limtech specializes in molding liquid silicone for medical devices and the houseware industry. According to Limtech owner and president Vic Stepaniuk, "Though we sell internationally, we felt it was important to use a local contractor and to keep the monies here in Racine. We first used Bukacek in 1997 and were very pleased with the results."
The architect for the new addition is Kueny and Associates.
The Milwaukee design-build firm La Macchia Group recently completed construction of new offices for the Animal Clinic of Sussex. The new location is N64 W24280 Main St. in Sussex.
During construction, the clinic operated out of a smaller facility in Sussex. The new building is approximately 5,000 square feet and accommodates several veterinarians and their staff. The clinic also has a facilty in Waukesha.
Beyer Construction, New Berlin, has started a construction project for North Shore Country Club at 3100 W. Country Club Dr. 106N, Mequon. David Hoff of The Hoff Group, Mequon, is the owner’s representative for the project.
In December, Beyer began Phase III of building improvements to the club. The phase involves demolition of the existing pool house and construction of a 4,619-square-foot wood-framed, one-level pool house with full basement.
The new space will accommodate men’s and women’s locker rooms and showers, a tennis pro shop, lifeguard offices, a full-service kitchen and screened-in dining area.
In 2001, Beyer completed Phase I of the project, a two-level addition for a new locker room, cart storage, addition to the lounge area and preliminary renovations to the existing building. Phase II, completed in 2002, involved renovation of the women’s locker room and new finishes throughout the existing main level.
Brandon Applebee, project manager, and Ed Gorichs, project superintendent, are managing the project. Architectural design is by the Zimmerman Design Group of Wauwatosa.
Ground has been broken for the expansion of the northwest Milwaukee office of Shorewest Realtors. The office is expanding to 8,000 square feet from its current size of 3,600 square feet. When land, building and furniture costs are considered, Shorewest is investing almost $1 million in the project.
Gerald Nell Inc. is handling the project. The firm built Shorewest’s Mequon Office and the Brookfield Corporate Office. Once complete, the employees and real estate professionals of the office will have double the work space and more private offices.
J.P. Cullen & Sons has started work on the $14 million Bonaventure Hall addition at Cardinal Stritch University in Fox Point.
Briohn Building, Pewaukee, has been contracted to design and construct Bell Court II, a 51,600-square-foot multi-tenant building at 400 W. Bell Court, Oak Creek.
Briohn Building will also design and build the first of two 37,700-square-foot multi-tenant buildings for Hansen Storage on Woodgate Court West in the Pewaukee Woods North Commerce Center, Pewaukee. Ground was broken Feb. 2.
MSI General, Oconomowoc, has been selected to design and build a new 51,000-square-foot Piggly Wiggly grocery store on Highway P in Oconomowoc. The Fox brothers have been in the grocery business since 1988 when they opened the Hartland Piggly Wiggly. In 1997, they purchased the grocery store on Highway P in Oconomowoc and opened the second Fox Brothers Piggly Wiggly. The Hartland store was remodeled and expanded in 1992 and is currently being expanded and remodeled again by MSI General. Fox Brothers employs more than 230 people.
