Construction begins on assisted living center in Brookfield

Applewood Senior Living announced the groundbreaking of a $6.5 million assisted living and memory care facility located on 2800 North Calhoun Road in Brookfield.

Applewood of Brookfield is scheduled to open in the spring of 2013.
Applewood Senior Living, based in New Berlin, has operated a similar facility located at 2900 S. Moorland Road since 1993.
Applewood is a family-owned residence offering each resident a home-like environment in which a variety of assisted living services are available as needed. Applewood of Brookfield will offer 48 private resident suites, each equipped with private bathrooms and kitchenettes. The outdoor area will feature two patio courtyards with walking paths and extensive landscaping.
Being a family business is very rare in our industry which is now dominated by large corporations, according to Greg Petrauski, president of Applewood Senior Living.
“Our goal was never to be the largest provider of assisted living services, but to be the best,” Petrauski said.
