Colon lining up support for Circuit Court race

Former state Rep. Pedro Colón has lined up support from 25 of his 46 colleagues as he runs to retain his seat on the Milwaukee County Circuit Court this spring.
Colón, a Democrat who served in the Assembly for 11 years representing Milwaukee’s south side, was appointed to the bench in September by Gov. Jim Doyle.
Colón has also received endorsements from Wisconsin Supreme Court Justices David Prosser, Jr., Patience Roggensack and N. Patrick Crooks, as well as Wisconsin Court of Appeals Judge Kitty Brennan.
Assistant Attorney General Roy Korte has filed candidacy papers to take on Colón.
If more candidates enter the race, a primary will be held Feb. 15. The spring election is set for April 5.
