City seeks developers for Riverwest property

The City of Milwaukee has issued a request for proposals (RFP) seeking developers interested in a vacant lot at the southwest corner of East Locus Avenue and North Bremen Street in the Riverwest neighborhood.

The vacant, 10,800-square-foot lot is currently used as a community park and as a location for a seasonal farmers market.

The city’s minimum asking price for the property is $108,000.

The city wants to see a development with first floor retail space, residential units on the upper floors, "green" building features and community open space that accommodates the seasonal farmers market and is publicly accessible during the day.

The RFP is due on April 8.
